CNN to launch first free original program on CNNgo

Roku reaches new milestones in 2016

Crowdtap CEO: Apps are the future of TV

The future of TV will involve swiping to find individual apps for content, creating "a giant iPad hanging on your wall," Crowdtap CEO Matt Britton said at a conference last week. Nielsen: Younger millennials OK with ads but don't remember them

Just over half of 18 to 24 year olds say they're fine with ads during free mobile content, compared to 46% of those between 25 and 35, Nielsen reports. Less than 2% of millennials switch TV channels during ad breaks, but the age group had "the lowest program engagement and lowest ad memorability scores during the studied shows," the report stated. Sling TV introduces discounts to 4 "Extra" packages

Sling TV has launched discounts for four "Extra" packages, allowing Sling Orange and Sling Blue subscribers to sign up for its Kids Extra, Comedy Plus Extra, Lifestyle Plus Extra and News Extra packages for $10 extra per month instead of $20. AT&T taps Nokia to test 5G DIRECTV Now stream

AT&T has completed a lab test of streaming 5G fixed-wireless signals of its DIRECTV Now service over 39 GHz millimeter wave airwaves using Nokia's AirScale technology. Pai to block privacy rules that affect broadband providers

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai is planning to block privacy rules that are stricter on broadband providers than on non-providers such as Google and Facebook.
